CURTIN UNIVERSITY MIDLAND CAMPUS
Project Completion Date: September 2019
Project Budget: $1,600,000
Services involved: Electrical and Communications
The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority had proposed to repurpose the historic workshops precinct in Midland into a medical and educational hub. As part of the overall plan for the MRA, Shamrock Electrics were engaged by PS Structures to assist in the construction of a new medical educational facility for Curtin University, establishing its new Midland Campus.
Taking on the electrical services requirements on the building’s construction, Shamrock’s extensive scope of works included the supply and installation of electrical distribution boards, general power distribution, cat6A structured communications cabling and optical fibre, lighting and lighting control system, dry fire detection and emergency warning system, electronic security, as well as all associated cabling and cable access requirements. Another major challenge were the Greenstar rating requirements which necessitated the entire building to be constructed and operational within an environmentally sustainable standard. Nevertheless, Shamrock were able to meet the project demands through careful coordination of our personnel and subcontractors. Shamrock completed this project within the deadline and satisfied Curtin University’s expectations.
